Swedish H-Windows Limited involvement with this project included the removal and disposal off-site of all existing windows, balcony handrails etc. and the making good to all internal finishes within the flats that were occupied throughout the course of the contract.

By enclosing the existing balcony to individual flats, the tenants now benefit from additional living space, thereby enhancing their quality of life. The overall effect of the completed project greatly improves the neighbourhood and the residents attitude to the estate as whole has improved.

All new windows provided by Swedish H-Windows for this project were double glazed tilt/turn windows fitted with lockable handles, trickle ventilators (to comply with current Building Regulations) and opening restrictors. All the external aluminium sections were finished in polyester powder coating to a standard RAL colour, with the internal timber sections being finishes in a white factory applied paint system.

In using this type of window, the council have been able to extend the life expectancy of the building to in excess of 30 years, and have also lowered the maintenance requirements considerably.

Swedish H-Windows Limited have subsequently carried out a further two similar projects within the Plumstead/Woolwich area of South East London with the same contractor.

Internal timber finished in white.
